Job Description:

 

Composite Software is hiring a full-time Java Developer in the Test department. Composite has experienced rapid growth over the last two years and has signed up a large number of new customers and OEM partners.  In addition, Composite is launching a number of new product initiatives. 

The Composite server and associated product suite is not only highly complex but must also work in a myriad of environments and configurations. The software is used in mission critical applications in which any kind of data corruption or system failure cannot be tolerated. The software contains a full SQL and SQL Scripting engine as well as the latest XML technologies. It features a sophisticated caching system with an advanced security system. Some of the axes of features include:

Works on a variety of operating systems – e.g. AIX, Linux, 64-bit Windows, etc.

Compatibility with several client programs – Cognos, WebLogic, Axis, etc.

Connects to many kinds of data sources – DB2, SAP, Salesforce.com, LDAP, Tibco, .NET, etc.

Runs in several modes – Clustering, Weak Encryption, etc.

Employs several repository types – MySql, Oracle, Sybase.

Support for many versions – 3.0, 3.7, 4.0, etc.

In order to tackle this enormous amount of complexity and maintain high quality, we invest heavily in automation. We build innovative test programs that can be leveraged in a myriad of ways.  The team has built an impressive system for running automated tests. We are looking for an individual with a passion for writing innovative programs to break the product in ways that will impress the product developers. The ideal candidate is someone who would be comfortable writing a program to scan a public WSDL repository and test the product with every available WSDL. Someone who has the ability to write a program to scan server logs looking for failures, with the ability to ignore known errors. In addition to writing code, someone who enjoys learning new systems while honing their design and architectural skills would be a match

The individual must also have good organizational and communication skills as they will be required to plan and coordinate the testing of features with product management and developers.

Required Skills

  • Job requirements:
  • 2 years experience developing Java Code
  • One year working as a QA Engineer
  • One year experience with SQL
  • Computer Science Degree

 

The following skills and knowledge are a plus:

 

  • SAP, Siebel, or PeopleSoft
  • Shell scripting
  • XML Technologies
  • JDBC
