Composite Software Appoints EMEA Sales Director

Newly Created Position to Meet Burgeoning Demand for Company’s Virtual Data Integration Solutions

San Mateo, Calif. - August 4, 2008 – Composite Software, Inc., the virtual data integration leader, today announced the appointment of Helen Vaughan as EMEA sales director.  Ms. Vaughan brings 20 years of experience in international business to Composite.  In this newly created position, Vaughan will be responsible for selling Composite’s award-winning Composite Information Server™ and its newly released appliance, Composite Discovery, to prospects in the UK and Europe, as well as servicing customers as they deploy Composite’s technology across their global enterprises.

Composite has experienced 200 percent growth in bookings from the region over the past 12 months, with European enterprises increasingly adopting Composite’s data federation technology, including industry leaders such as mobile communications company, Turkcell, and global energy company, BP, as well as others in France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Israel, Spain and The Netherlands.

“European enterprises, like their North American counterparts, are implementing Composite’s technology to unlock their data regardless of source or location and are quickly achieving significant ROI,” said Jim Green, CEO of Composite Software.  “What often starts as a test pilot typically converts to multiple installations across groups within the enterprise.  Our current director of European Operations and his technical team are racing to keep up with all the interest from repeat and prospective customers, and they’re keen on tapping Helen’s unique combination of technology expertise and sales acumen to bolster their efforts.”

Two UK-based industry analyst firms, Bloor Research and Butler Group, recently reported on Composite Software’s industry leadership and superior technology.  Philip Howard, research director of Data at Bloor, wrote, “[Composite Software] is one of the leading vendors in the sector as a whole, certainly in terms of its [products’] functionality, performance and ease of use.”  And Angela Eager, senior analyst at Butler, concluded that the Composite Information Server is a strong solution for integrating live data in real time across disparate systems and is particularly good at accessing packaged application data that is notoriously difficult to access.

Vaughan joins Composite Software from UK-based retailer Tesco, plc., which specializes in international grocery and general merchandising and is the world’s fourth largest retailer.  At Tesco, Vaughan played a key role in uniting business and IT groups to align processes and applications into integrated solutions.  Prior to Tesco, Vaughan served as the director of business solutions at Oracle-acquired Retek Information Systems Ltd., a specialist in software packages that large retail chains use to run their businesses.  At Retek, she forged strong links between sales and service to build better customer relationships early in the sales cycle.  Before that, she worked at Island Pacific and Dataserv, where she managed sales territories across France, Germany and Spain.

Vaughan will be based in Composite’s EMEA office.
