New Breadth Of Data Virtualization Middleware & Services Available To Global Enterprises Facing Complex Information Challenges

Composite Software Collaborates with HP to Deliver Agile, Cost Effective Data Virtualization Middleware and Services

SAN MATEO, CALIF. — December 8, 2009 — Composite Software, Inc., the data virtualization leader, announced today its collaboration with HP to deliver data virtualization middleware and services to ease global enterprises facing complex information challenges. Organizations today need the flexibility to break down existing information silos with both virtual and physical access to more timely and accurate information. This collaboration combines Composite’s data virtualization middleware and services with HP Business Intelligence Solutions to accelerate delivery of real-time intelligence for complicated supply chain, risk and customer environments.

“Together, Composite and HP have been trusted advisors for organizations needing to optimize information access,” said Christian Nall, EVP Field Operations of Composite Software. “The combined expertise and technology offerings will allow organizations to derive even more business value from all of their information assets while reducing their information-related costs.”

Through this collaboration, Composite and HP consultants have the necessary solutions to design a competitive information delivery method—a physical data warehouse, a virtual data view, or a combination of the two—for enterprises facing a range of business decisions, from short-term ones in call centers to long-term strategic ones affecting global inventory delivery systems or energy production uptimes.

Composite Software, with its Composite Information Server™, will provide customers with a means to virtually integrate critical enterprise data that resides outside their HP Neoview Advantage enterprise data warehouses.  In combination, the two approaches—virtual data integration and physical data consolidation—enable enterprises to achieve significant cost reductions across their entire information infrastructures.

Giuliano Di Vitantonio, head of Marketing and Alliances, Business Intelligence Solutions at HP, explained, “Large organizations and governments face increasingly complex information challenges.  These are coupled with the need to deliver faster time to value, reduce costs, and remain flexible to changing demands.  Composite and HP offer enterprise-class and industry-specific business intelligence solutions to help customers be more dynamic.”

Composite Software originally certified the HP Neoview Advantage enterprise data warehouse as a data source in 2008 for its Composite Information Server, and the company has been working with a number of HP Neoview Advantage customers since that time.

“Composite’s alliances have been beneficial to Nielsen in the past,” said John Boyer, advisory team lead in the BI Center of Excellence at The Nielsen Company, the world’s largest marketing and media information company, and a customer of Composite Software and HP.  “We are looking forward to the new agreement with HP, as well, and we expect that the combined offerings will be even stronger than the sum of the parts.”

According to Gartner’s “Market Trends: Data Integration Tools, Worldwide, 2007-2012,” the DI software market, of which data virtualization is a subset, is nearly $2 billion, with an estimated 17 percent annual growth rate; supporting services revenue is projected to grow 17 percent as well.  The collaboration between HP and Composite Software is designed to help meet this growing demand for agile, cost effective data integration products and services.
