Composite Software Announces Partnership With Scicom As Demand In Central Europe Grows

SAN MATEO, CALIF. — December 2, 2009 — Composite Software, Inc., the data virtualization leader, announces an alliance with Scicom Computer Systems, an IT solutions provider servicing the Greek, Cyprus and Balkan regions, as demand for flexible, lower cost data virtualization middleware grows in continental Europe.

As enterprises are implementing an array of business intelligence (BI), predictive analytics, data and content mining, portals and other business applications to help bolster business decision-making, they are deploying solutions to deliver data sourced from enterprise data warehouses as well as data sources outside these warehouses.  With the Composite Information Server™, Scicom Computer Systems enables its enterprise customers the ability to cost-effectively integrate data from different and disparate sources outside the warehouse, as well as prototype, migrate, extend, federate and leverage enterprise data warehouse assets themselves throughout their lifecycles.

“Business agility is increasingly important in Europe where global trends demand fast response said Peter Kokalakis, president, Scicom Computer Systems. “With Composite Software’s data virtualization, we can help our customers quickly get the data needed to adapt and thrive.”

Since establishing its European operations in 2006, Composite Software has seen tremendous acceleration in European demand from enterprises with European headquarters (e.g., Turkcell, the third largest mobile communication services provider in Europe) as well as global customers with large European operations (e.g., Pfizer, Inc.).

Scicom Computer Systems extends Composite’s growing list of European resellers that includes PowerData (Spain), Janus SI (France), and Libi (Israel), as well as System Integrator Emunio (U.K.).  “European companies value the combination of best-in-class data virtualization middleware and local system integrator expertise,” said Randy Barlewski, Composite Software Vice President of Alliances and Channels.  “Scicom’s proven success in Greece, Cypress, and the Balkans makes them an ideal addition to our extended Composite team.”
