Composite Software Expands Fed Program To Meet Increased Demand For Data Virtualization

Three IT Industry Veterans Join Federal Group; Federal Sales Director Recognized by Industry Advisory Council as a Future IT Industry Leader

San Mateo, Calif. - October 14, 2008 –Composite Software, Inc. today announced it is ramping up its Reston, Virginia-based Federal operation with the addition of three IT veterans to meet increased demand for its award-winning data virtualization solutions.  In recognition of her Federal program leadership, Composite’s Director of Federal Sales, Erin Hawley, was tapped to participate in the Class of 2008 Partners Program of the Industry Advisory Council (IAC).  Hawley is scheduled to graduate later this month at the 2008 Executive Leadership Conference (ELC) in Williamsburg, Virginia.

“The Department of Defense (DoD) and the Intelligence Community (IC) understand the critical importance of inter-agency data sharing, and they’re aggressively architecting new solutions that leverage data virtualization and service-oriented architectures (SOA) to get there,” said Jim Green, CEO of Composite Software.  “This need has rapidly expanded Composite’s technology and related services, which we are aggressively fulfilling by expanding our Federal organization and partnerships.”

Composite has hired three IT professionals with a combined total of more than 50 years of serving the Federal and Civilian communities.  Melissa Lange Kaufman, formerly of BEA Software, will serve as business development executive to oversee Federal Strategic Partners and Business Development.  Joining her are Senior Engineer Tom Yarmas, from Network Appliance; and Senior Sales Executive Lloyd Hulett, formerly of Red Hat, Inc.

Identifying Rising Stars in Industry and Government

Last fall, the American Council of Technology (ACT) and the IAC awarded Erin Hawley with membership in its ACT/ IAC IT 2008 Partners Program.  Award winners will be announced at the 2008 Executive Leadership Conference (ELC), held October 26-28, 2008.  Composite Software is a silver level sponsor of the conference.

IAC provides professional educational programs including the IAC IT Partners Program.  The program’s overall goal is to develop individuals in government and industry who have been identified as having high potential for future roles as senior executives and/or company officers.  After nomination by their respective company or agency sponsors, each nominee undergoes a rigorous selection process by a panel of senior executives from government and industry.  Nominees attend classes over a twelve-month period before graduating.

In additional news related to the Federal community, Composite Software is a sponsor of both the DoD & IC Partnership Conference in Dallas, and the GEOINT Symposium held by the Geospatial Intelligence Foundation in Nashville, Tenn.  These conferences are scheduled for the end of October.
